Thịnh An Kitchen & Tofu

Thịnh An Kitchen & Tofu 📍 8104 W Waters Ave, Tampa, FL 33615 A friend recommended this place, and I finally got to check it out—their tofu is so delicious 😋 It’s a Vietnamese restaurant with a huge menu and super affordable prices, especially considering a bowl of pho costs $20 these days 😱 There’s a whole section with a bakery and all kinds of Vietnamese snacks you can grab to-go! If you’re dining in, just pick what you want from there, take it to your table, and pay all together at the end—super convenient 🛒 They’ve got tons of Vietnamese desserts too, like Tampa’s local bambu treats 🍧 Soybean milk They have sweet soybean milk! Not sure if there’s a sugar-free option, but it’s incredibly good 😍 If you’re worried it’s too sweet, just wait for the ice to melt a little—it’s perfect. And there are huge bottles in the fridge if you want to stock up 🥤 Banh cuon In the deli section—Vietnamese steamed rice rolls, similar to cheong fun! They’re filled with minced pork and wood ear mushrooms, and the rice wrappers are so soft and thin 🥢 Served with fish sauce, which is chef’s kiss. Guangxi has something similar, but the way they’re eaten is a bit different 🌏 Seafood toast The topping is so thick—it’s like a sweet, creamy, cheesy supreme pizza in toast form 🤤 It has that celery flavor similar to Trader Joe’s chicken cranberry salad, which is a fun twist! Fried tofu Their signature dish! The lemongrass flavor is sweet yet fresh, and the tofu inside is so tender 😭 It sells out really fast, so grab it while you can! There’s also plain fried tofu with no extra seasoning, and a mushroom version with chopped wood ear added. Plus, they have sesame balls with mung bean filling—yummy! The shrimp cakes are solid too, just like other good fish cakes you’ve had 🦐 Mi quang About half a centimeter wide, these egg yolk noodles are mixed with turmeric, fish sauce, Vietnamese ham, shrimp, ribs, and quail eggs—the quail eggs taste like they’re braised, so flavorful 🐔 The broth is packed with basil, cilantro, lettuce, and comes with a big sesame rice cracker. Dip it in the soup and munch—it’s so good! Even though it’s labeled “spicy,” I didn’t feel much heat at all 🌶️ (but that’s just me!) Rainbow dessert Vietnamese che sweet soup with a coconut milk base 🌴 It’s layered with salty mung beans at the bottom, grass jelly, sweet red beans, water chestnuts, and cendol—so many textures and flavors, it’s like a party in your mouth 🎉 You’ve got to try it! #Patan
