That 5-Star LA Hand Roll Spot Everyone's Hyping? It's REAL π£π
Okay I've eaten at A LOT of places in LA, but a full 5-star review from me? Almost never happens π³ But Sonmari? Yeah they earned every single star βββββ This spot in Silver Lake on Sunset Blvd just opened recently and is already PACKED. Wandered in over the weekend and now I can't stop thinking about it π€― What absolutely destroyed me: π Uni Toast β I've had uni toast at so many places but THIS ONE lives rent free in my head. Crispy shokupan bread hugging this perfectly jammy soft-boiled egg that's basically like an onsen egg situation, and the creamy richness just wraps around the sweet uni like a warm hug. Literally perfect π€€π₯π π£ Hikari Don β Sweet + savory amaebi, more of that gorgeous uni, fatty melt-in-your-mouth toro, HUGE scallop, and negitoro on top. The combo alone tells you it's gonna slap. Portion looks small but honestly two people can share itβwrap it in crispy seaweed for max enjoyment. Only note: the seasoning is a bit heavy, gets slightly salty towards the end so maybe share it! β¨ Hand rolls β SO many options: tuna, salmon, uni, caviar you name it. I went with seared salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. Every single piece was fresh with that sweet aftertaste that tells you it's quality. Wrap in that crispy nori and thank me later. Also highly recommend pairing with the miso clam soup π₯£ π§ Dessert β Black sesame mont blanc AND yuzu sorbet? Had to get both. Black sesame one was rich, nutty, that chestnut paste on top was silky and not too sweet π Yuzu sorbet was refreshing with little lime bits throughoutβtangy, bright, perfect palate cleanser πβπ© πSonmari 3503 W Sunset Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90026 Run don't walk πββοΈπ¨ #LAFoodie #LosAngelesEats #LAJapaneseFood #LAFoodHunt #LAHandRolls #LAUni #LAFoodGuide #SilverLakeEats
