That Lobster Risotto I Can’t Stop Thinking About 🦞

Last year, I visited Santander just to renew my visa, and it turns out—places you go to with no expectations often end up surprising you the most. The sea breeze, sunset glow, and seafood there still linger in my memory! What stuck with me most was this restaurant called La Mulata—4.4 stars on Google, and even Michelin-recommended. Flipping through the menu, I wanted to order everything, but my friend and I are both "eyes bigger than our stomachs," so we narrowed it down to three dishes: 🦞 Lobster Creamy Rice (Arroz Cremoso Con Bogavantes) My absolute favorite! Any rice that can make a non-carb-obsessed person fall in love is special—each grain is soft and moist, soaked in sweet lobster broth, with a hint of creamy richness. The lobster meat is tender and springy, mixing with the rice for a burst of seafood and grain aroma that still makes my mouth water when I think about it. 🐚 Grilled Scallops (Zamburiñas A la Plancha) Northern Spain’s grilled scallops have a "rustic charm": sprinkled with coarse salt crystals, they’re on the salty side, but it can’t hide the scallops’ natural sweetness. The flesh is tender with a slight char, and biting into it tastes like the freshness of the sea. Pairing it with bread to soak up the juices balances the saltiness perfectly—so good I wanted to lick the shell! 🐟 A fish whose name I forgot It had a creamy texture, with average seasoning—nothing memorable, the most ordinary dish of the day. There are three dishes I didn’t get to try but have on my list for next time: razor clams, salt-baked fish, and gooseneck barnacles (all local specialties, super fresh). Tips: Book ahead during peak season—otherwise, you might wait over an hour. Portions are huge! My friend and I struggled all day to finish the lobster rice. Two dishes for two people is enough~ 📍 Restaurant: La Mulata 💶 Price: €30-40 per person #SpainTravel #SantanderFood #MichelinRecommended #SeafoodRisotto #EuropeanHiddenGems #TravelEats
