That One Life-Changing Steak — Flew 2000km Just For This Bite 🇨🇦
Who would’ve thought my all-time favorite steak is hidden in a totally unassuming corner of Calgary? I still remember my first bite — absolutely mind-blowing! 🥩 Back then, no one was talking about it on Now a few foodies have started sharing my secret spot 😉 Their menu is pretty unique — You can easily spend $500 per person… or keep it under $100. Japanese A5 Wagyu runs around $35/oz (minimum 8oz, if I remember right). They also offer a Wagyu flight — perfect for sharing with friends 🥩 But the real star is their dry-aged 35-day steak 🐂 That process + Alberta beef? Life. Changed. 🥹 After you get the menu, the server brings over a big tray to explain all the cuts and prices. We’ve been countless times, and every server has been super patient — service is 💯 We’ve tried every steak on the menu — still obsessed with the dry-aged. If you’re feeling fancy, go for the Wagyu. It’s incredibly tender — though it’s almost too rich for me. Sides are super affordable — I love their Mac & Cheese 🧀 You can even upgrade to Lobster Mac & Cheese 🦞 Their seafood is decent, but let’s be real — you come here for the BEEF. Desserts are delicious and fairly priced. My fave was the tiramisu… though sadly it’s been off the menu for a while 😢 My typical routine: ✈️ Fly out from Vancouver in the morning → land in Calgary for lunch → Shop and walk around → steak dinner → fly back at night. Yes, I’ve done this multiple times — a 2000km round trip just for this meal! That’s how obsessed I am. 🍴: Chairman’s Steakhouse 2251 Mahogany Blvd SE, Calgary, AB T3M 2V6 📌 Always make a reservation! Walk-ins basically don’t exist. #VancouverLife #Calgary #CalgaryFood #CanadianCuisine #NorthAmericanFood #FoodieLife #CalgaryLife #CanadianLife #SteakLover #FoodTravel
