The Barnett New Orleans

New Orleans is such a city full of character and charm! 🎭 The Barnett, the first hotel we experienced on this trip, left a really good impression on us. 😊 The hotel isn’t very large, but it’s filled with a retro American vibe—stylish and beautiful. The Smeg fridge in the room was actually the reason I booked this place! 🚪🍃 It’s a bit mini but super cute. The light green baseboards and door panels, paired with wooden furniture, show great taste. Compared to some overly “themed” retro hotels, The Barnett’s mid-century modern style feels just right—comfortable and authentic. 🛋️✨ The common areas are compact but lovely. I absolutely fell in love with the eclectic artwork on the walls! 🖼️❤️ The only downside was that the rooftop bar was closed during our stay. We got lucky—even though we booked through Chase Travel, the front desk proactively asked for my World of Hyatt number, so I earned two free nights! 🎉💳 The location is also a big plus—situated right on Bourbon Street, within walking distance to lots of great food and fun spots. 🍤🎷 Before coming, there had just been an incident in New Orleans, and we were hesitant about whether to proceed. But it turned out these few days felt super safe—with police presence every few steps. 👮♂️✅ Tomorrow we’re checking into the Maison Metier across the street, which is said to be one of the most beautiful and top-rated hotels in NOLA—it’s even a Michelin One Key hotel! 🗝️🏨 From the photos, the style leans toward neoclassical/maximalist decor, totally different from The Barnett’s MCM vibe. Can’t wait to experience the contrast! Have you stayed at The Barnett or Maison Metier? Which style of hotel decor do you prefer—cozy mid-century or lavish classical?
