The Best Thai Restaurant in Halifax: Kajohn-Thai 🇹🇭✨

My husband is obsessed with Thai food and has tried every Thai restaurant in Halifax, but none impressed him... until now! 🎉 After seeing rave reviews about Kajohn-Thai (apparently the owner is from Thailand, so it's authentic!), we finally gave it a try. Located at 6140 Young St (easy to find and park!), this place exceeded all our expectations! 🌈 Spring Rolls ($2.75 each) All-vegetable rolls stuffed with cabbage, carrots, glass noodles, and—uniquely—peeled mung beans! 🥬 The dipping sauce was perfectly balanced—tangy and sweet, way better than any other spring rolls we've had! 🌈 Mango Salad Fresh mango tossed with shredded coconut, veggies, and a divine dressing—so refreshing! 🥭 The coconut added a creamy sweetness that had us scraping the bowl clean! 🌈 Soups ($9.95 each) Tom Yum Goong: Spicy, sour, and packed with herbs—exactly like the ones in Thailand! 🌶️ Thai Hot & Sour Soup: Slightly sweet with a kick of heat—unbelievably flavorful! (Yes, $10 for a small bowl is pricey, but the taste is WORTH it!) 🌈 Satay Chicken Skewers (~$12) Juicy, tender chicken with a peanut sauce to die for! 🍢 The side salad was unexpectedly amazing—my husband said the chicken was as tender as Chinese pork tenderloin! 🌈 Pineapple Fried Rice ($17.95) Sweet, fragrant, and loaded with fresh pineapple (not canned!), raisins, and coconut aroma! 🍍 A bit pricey, but so delicious it’s now my favorite dish here! 🌈 Pad Thai (Chicken) Sweet with a hint of spice, topped with fresh peppercorns and basil. 🍜 The portion was huge, and the flavors were spot-on! 🌈 Stir-Fried Curry (Chicken & Veggies) Rich, aromatic Thai curry with tons of veggies (maybe too many bell peppers and carrots 🥕). Still, perfect with steamed rice! 🍛 🌈 Mango Sticky Rice MY DREAM DESSERT! 🥭✨ Sweet coconut-infused sticky rice paired with fresh mango and coconut cream sauce. Pro tip: Eat it together—the mango balances the rice’s sweetness perfectly! Final Thoughts: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ✅ Authentic Thai flavors—finally, real Thai food in Halifax! ✅ Fresh ingredients—no shortcuts here! ✅ Great service & ambiance—modern and cozy. ❌ Slightly pricey—our bill was ~$140 (with tip), but worth every penny! 📍 Kajohn-Thai 6140 Young St, Halifax #HalifaxEats #ThaiFood #AuthenticThai #FoodieHeaven #MustTryHalifax #BestOfHalifax #MangoStickyRice #TomYum #PadThai #CanadianFoodie 🍽️🔥
