If you're in the mood for authentic Thai cuisine, look no further than Kajohn Thai Restaurant. From the moment you walk in, the warm ambiance and friendly staff make you feel right at home. The decor is a perfect blend of traditional and modern elements, setting the stage for a delightful dining experience.
The menu is a treasure trove of flavors, offering a wide variety of dishes that cater to all tastes. We started with the Tom Yum soup, which was a fragrant explosion of lemongrass and lime, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice. For the main course, the Pad Thai was a standout—perfectly stir-fried noodles with fresh ingredients and a generous portion of shrimp, all topped with crushed peanuts and lime.
Don’t miss the green curry; it was rich, creamy, and packed with vegetables and tender chicken, showcasing the bold flavors of Thailand. Each dish was presented beautifully, reflecting the care and attention that goes into every aspect of the meal.
The dessert menu was equally impressive. The mango sticky rice was the perfect sweet ending—coconut cream drizzled over warm, fragrant rice, accompanied by ripe, juicy mango.
Service was attentive without being intrusive, and our server was knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations that truly enhanced our meal. Prices were reasonable considering the quality and portions.

Read moreFirst time trying this restaurant. We ordered for pickup and this is what we ordered. Chicken satay with peanut sauce, 6/10 chicken dry. Crab Rangoon was gross, my first and only bit tasted like bad fishy tasting tuna. I called and asked the lady that answered the phone if it was made with crab, she says, “yes crab” I told her it did not taste like any crab rangoon I’ve ever tasted & I told her that I didn’t believe this was crab, she continued to say, yes crab we use crab, I pressed her, I told her I know the taste of crab and that is NOT CRAB, and I continued to tell her that saying it’s crab when in fact it’s not, is false advertising & that under the crab Rangoon on the menu it stated it was crab mixed with cream cheese. Only then, did she admit it was imitation crab, I don’t eat fake food & her name was “A” . Again I told her this was false information & that she lied to a new customer, not okay. Only then did she offer a refund. And driving back, we were asked not to come back because the food wasn’t to our liking. 🤯 wow! You’re absolutely right it wasn’t, and we will gladly go to the Thai restaurants in Halifax that are actually trying to please consumers but also, taking pride in serving good quality food, not passing off imitation food that customers may have a allergic reaction to because they lied about ingredients. Makes me question what else is not authentic. I give this place 🚩🚩🚩🚩 4 red flags transparency...

I recently had an utterly disappointing dining experience at Kajohn Thai Restaurant, and it's safe to say that the abysmal customer service was the primary reason for my dissatisfaction. This establishment fell remarkably short in meeting even the most basic expectations when it comes to service.
From the moment I entered the restaurant, I was greeted with disinterested stares from the staff(owner i think), who made it evident that they would rather be anywhere else but there. The lack of warmth and sincerity was palpable, instantly setting a sour tone for the entire evening.
Once finally seated, my fellow diners and I were left to fend for ourselves as it took an exorbitant amount of time for a server to approach our table. There was no acknowledgement or apology for the delay, leaving us to wonder if we were somehow invisible to the staff.
To make matters worse, when we finally managed to get the menu, the first thing came out the staffs mouth was “ there is going to be 15% gratuity charged on your bill since you are a group”
I expected better from a restaurant that prides itself on delivering quality service and unfortunately, it...
