The Essence of Old-School Dating in Pasadena
Among the many steakhouses in Los Angeles, Alexander's Steakhouse has always stood out with its unique identity — and it's my personal favorite. From ambiance to service to food, it’s impeccable and truly embodies the classic, elegant date night vibe. Located near the Pasadena City Hall, the setting is refined and elegant, with a sense of ceremony that makes you feel like the lead in an old Hollywood film. Although it's a traditional upscale American steakhouse, the menu delightfully incorporates Japanese-inspired touches. Here are some unforgettable dishes from that night: 🍞 Uni Toast So good I’d come back just to take away two orders for lunch! Among all the uni toasts I've tried, this ranks at the top. Uni + Wagyu is already a winning combo, but the toast itself was next-level — layered, flavorful, and absolutely memorable. 🎨 Beef Tartare Beautifully plated like a work of art. While looks certainly add points, the flavor was a perfect 10. 🥩 Kobe Wagyu The star of the night — Kobe Wagyu needs no introduction. That marbling and melt-in-your-mouth richness… served with six different salts for seasoning — attention to detail at its finest. 🦞 Main Lobster Boston lobster with firm, succulent meat, lightly dressed in a yuzu cream sauce — balanced and refreshing. Beyond the standout dishes, the cocktails were showstoppers too — "Make You Look" and "Blood & Flowers" were almost too beautiful to drink. Even the complimentary bread came with three kinds of butter, and we were gifted marshmallows at the end. Every detail meets the standard of a truly elevated dining experience. Whether it's a first date, anniversary, or birthday, Alexander's never disappoints — each visit creates lasting memories 💞.
