The Fig Tree Restaurant in Charlotte

I’ve recently had the most satisfying dining experience at a restaurant that might just surpass MOA in my heart! I was eating at Peppervine once and struck up a conversation with an elderly couple at the next table. They mentioned that they, like us, try out a different restaurant every week. When I asked which one they liked the most, they immediately recommended The Fig Tree. I made a mental note to book a table there. If you want a good spot on a Saturday, it’s best to reserve at least a month in advance! The restaurant is set in a house, with tables in every room. The environment isn’t overly fancy, but it’s decent with a touch of old-money charm. 🍹 Sparking Pear Martini This cocktail was recommended by the staff, and it was incredibly smooth with a perfect balance. 🐙 Grilled Octopus Every table in our room ordered this, and it’s the best grilled octopus I’ve ever had! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and I even finished the side dishes. The hint of pepper and century egg flavor really won me over. 🍖 Filet Mignon I usually associate steak with steak houses, but this place served an excellent one too! The sides were incredibly delicious. The steak had a blue cheese sauce on top that was surprisingly complementary. 🐑 Lamb Shank I almost thought the lamb shank was made from a lamb slaughtered on the spot because it took an hour to arrive. The meat was tender and juicy. However, I preferred the other two dishes over this one. Next time, I want to try their other meats; their menu has options like elk, bison, and veal, which are rarely eaten by Chinese people. 🥣 Main courses come with a free soup or salad. The soup of the day was chicken, and it was delicious too! The service was also meticulous and excellent. I’ll definitely be going back! The cost is about $100 per person, but considering the experience and service, it’s quite a good value! #food #restaurantrecommendation #hiddenrestaurantgem #Charlotte #CharlotteRestaurants #NorthCarolinaCuisine
