The Fries Museum
🍟This is a museum specifically designed for “fries enthusiasts” - the Fries Museum (Frietmuseum), and it is also the only museum in the world themed around fries. The museum occupies two floors, located in the oldest building in Bruges, Belgium, the Saaihalle, the history of which can be traced back to the 14th century. Before the museum opened in 2008, a renovation project lasting a year and a half was carried out. On the first floor of the museum, you can learn about the legendary history of the potato. For example, all the potatoes in the world actually originated in southern Peru today, and then gradually spread to the northern and southern parts of South America. There are also many different varieties of potatoes here, all of which are the results of continuous breeding by scientists over the years. Can you recognize which one is the most common variety you have? The second floor tells the history of fried fries. It turns out that the popular French fries actually originated in Belgium. In addition to this, the museum also exhibits a large number of photos, artworks of potatoes and fries, as well as potato peelers and machines for making fries. In order to enable visitors to fry delicious fries themselves, there are also special videos in the museum to show the process of making fries. 😋The museum also has a restaurant. If you are tired from walking, you can enjoy the delicious fries at the birthplace of fries. 🔫Of course, there are also interactive games suitable for children and the elderly here. For example, the potato shooting game aimed at protecting our potato fields from beetle damage. #MuseumWorthVisiting #MuseumAdventures #PopularScience #WhereToGoInSummerVacation
