This was a super fun experience! I really enjoyed this museum and they have a lot to offer. A ton of really cool facts and artifacts from the past, small rooms with TVs that take you through the process of harvesting potatoes. The place was well kept up and clean which was definitely a plus! There is a downstairs cafe of some sort that offers friets/fries of course but purchasing the museum pass does NOT get you a handful of fries for free. It only gives you a small discount towards a cone of fries. However, the taste of the fries was well worth it! I would recommend splitting a cone of fries for two people! It comes with A LOT!! The bathrooms were clean but it did smell a bit in the mens bathroom. There is a small gift shop at the exit where you can purchase potato peelers, fry cutters, and other knick knacks for souvenirs. I would definitely recommend this place if you're visiting Brugge! This is a must for anyone interesting in the culture and history behind Friets!

Just walked past this place and thought it was a chip shop (sort of was). Walked in and played €7 per person or €14 with a ticket for the chocolate museum. In this price we got a discount voucher for the chip shop downstairs. The museum was really interesting and had a good selection of old tools and made us realise some very interesting facts about potatoes and the history of chips. After the tour was done we went to the chip shop and ordered some chips and a drink and our vouchers. The chips were amazing and perfectly cooked. Crispy outside and soft fluffy inside. The total price for a large chips, mayonnaise and a coke with the discount voucher was €3.70 making this a very cheap meal. Really reccomend a visit to this location and was really interesting to find out and try a traditional food. Only niggle is there is little ventilation in the building so on a hot day it can get very warm and stuffy in there so dress appropriately.

I'd highly recommend this museum as a must-do when in Bruges! It takes 1- 1.5 hours to comfortably cover the entire museum.

My family and I loved it! We bought our tickets in advance and there was a short queue when we arrived that moved fast. We were cleared and gained entrance in less than 5 mins.

If you speak English, French or Dutch, you can make it through without the audio guide.

There's a lot of hidden gems and facts. Be sure to walk through every room from corner to corner.

Pros: The cartoons (Fiona and Peter's) interactions were a hit for my kids. They remembered their story all through the visit.

The play area in the restaurant is also a nice addition. Some additional signage about it at the door or marked on the wall would be good.

Kudos to the restaurant team! Their service was prompt and the frites were delicious. For the adventurous tasters, select the sauce platter-all the 5 sauces are worth it!

Cons: The bathrooms got messy very fast. It's understandable since we visited in the afternoon which seems to be preferred by families. I'd advise better management of this space.

Recommendation: We had a "pomme pomme" sing along...perhaps the cabaret can be an entire karaoke!

Perhaps adding Peter and Fiona's respective moulds at the cabaret can make it more...

Loved it! How cute is a city with a museum about fries and chocolate?! Well, I think this museum is underrated. We learned there why french fries are actually belgian fries, but also a glimpse of the comic book culture of the country. It starts telling us the origins of potatoes, crediting South America, but there is so much more inside and the building was way larger than we were expecting. There are interactive games, selfie spots and it is just filled with many interesting stuff to look at. Kids will have fun! Even the short film following the process of making food made us value a simple fry like never before. In the end we ate the delicious fries with sauce. I am glad for visiting and I will remember this experience in a fries museum, it is a rare and interesting story to tell. Finally, I would have to disagree with the other reviews, because I believe this museum deserves a visit when in Brugge. So fun! The tickets were a combo including three...
