📍 Death & Co. This acclaimed bar—originally from New York and ranked among North America’s 50 Best—is tucked away in a basement in DTLA’s Arts District. You’ll need to be escorted down by the entrance security. We had a reservation, so we went straight into the moody, intimate main room—perfect for a girls’ night out or couples in that dating/almost-dating phase 💫. If you don’t have a reservation during peak hours, you might wait in the front room where there’s a fun photo booth—$6 for color or black-and-white prints 📸. The server mentioned they’ll switch to the fall/winter menu next week—we caught the last week of the spring/summer lineup! Definitely planning to return after the refresh 🍂❄️. 🍋 Sundream – I picked this based on my preference for light, playful drinks. A refreshing yuzu-lemon spritz, perfect as a first drink. The aftertaste has a noticeable hint of pandan—highly recommend! 🌿 🥥 Flying Nimbus – Richer and more layered. The coconut milk stands out (they said there’s mango, but I couldn’t taste it). Topped with black sesame powder on the ice—a unique experience for both smell and taste. Smooth and sweet—coconut lovers shouldn’t miss this! 🥥✨ 🍍 Pineapple Express – For those who prefer non-alcoholic options. It’s like an espresso martini but without the alcohol, so the fruit flavors shine more. You get the pineapple first, then a clean, refreshing cold brew finish 🍃☕. 🍗 Buttermilk Fried Chicken – Absolutely loved it! The coating is crispy but not messy, glazed just right—the perfect bar snack. If you order just one dish, make it this one 🍗🔥. 🍢 Black Cod Skewer – Mildly spicy and incredibly tender. The black cod is so flavorful—almost unfairly good! The place is seriously dark—I had to use night mode for photos and still didn’t know how they’d turn out.
