The Japanese Garden in The Hague is Open for Autumn!

The beautifully maintained mini Japanese garden is open again! 🍁 I visited during the spring opening – blink, and you might miss it because it’s so small. I arrived in the late afternoon, and the way the moss glowed in the soft three o’clock sunlight was just magical! ✨ Japanese Garden This historic Japanese garden, located in the heart of Clingendael Park in The Hague, is the only Japanese garden in the Netherlands built in the early 20th century. It’s known for its rare plants and unique, tranquil atmosphere. 🌿 Due to its fragility, the garden only opens for a few weeks each spring and autumn. Crowds can sometimes mean restricted entry, so it’s best to go early to avoid peak times. Last time, I went right before it closed for the season, and it wasn’t crowded. But honestly, picking a beautiful day to visit is the real highlight! ☀️ 🗓️ Opening Dates: October 19 - November 3, 10:00 - 16:00 🎫 Entry: Free! 📌 Tip: This little Japanese garden is a bit hidden, so during the open season, just follow the flow of people. It’s small, so once you’ve explored, take a walk around Clingendael Park too – the forest is stunning and serene, perfect for photography! 🌲 Since it’s a bit of a trip from The Hague city center (and even more from Groningen!), it’s worth the journey! #Netherlands #DutchLife #WeekendPlans #ParkLife #WanderingTheWorld #LocalHiddenGems #ZeroBudgetPhotography #TheHague #SpontaneousExploration #DutchAutumnVibes
