The Johannesburg Safari in South Africa is incredibly beautiful
Annual Safari Adventure I recently revisited the Pilanesberg National Park for a safari, making it my second time there. With the New Year just around the corner, I decided to embark on a safari trip. The park is approximately a 2 - hour drive from Johannesburg. Initially, I had planned to visit Kruger National Park, but due to a last - minute change of plans, I chose Pilanesberg instead. For those looking for a short trip, there's also Sun City nearby, which is great for a quick getaway. It's suitable for a day trip from Johannesburg if you're short on time. 👍👍👍However, if you have more time, I would highly recommend Kruger National Park. It's larger, has a greater variety and number of animals, more facilities, and more accommodation and rest areas. I would suggest allocating at least 3 - 4 days for a visit to Kruger.👍👍👍 I woke up early and entered the park, booking a 3 - hour safari tour (priced between R700 - R1000, which includes the entrance fee). If you don't have time constraints, you can opt for a half - day or full - day tour. Since I booked at the last minute, I was fortunate enough to get a private vehicle, which was really enjoyable! Having a guide can significantly save time and allow you to see the animals more directly and quickly, as guides share information with each other. The best times to see animals are in the early morning and late afternoon. If you prefer to drive and spot animals on your own, I would recommend a two - day trip for a more relaxed experience. The feeling is quite different.👍👍👍 As soon as I entered the park, I was greeted with a delightful surprise - a family of the Big Five white rhinos. Throughout the tour, we saw cheetahs🐆, lions digesting their recent prey🦁, herds of zebras🦓, impalas, gazelles🐐, wildebeests🦌, giraffes, leopards🦒, hippos🐆, snakes🐍, and crocodiles🐊. We saw all the Big Five except for the buffalo. Seeing so many animals in just 3 hours was incredibly efficient. A big thumbs - up to our guide, Lizzy, for making it such a successful trip. #PilanesbergNationalPark #SouthAfrica #NationalZoo #Lion #Johannesburg #Safari
