The Langham Huntington: LA's Peninsula Alternative

When my family came to Pasadena for work, we chose The Langham Huntington for our stay. Honestly, I was hesitant at first—I’d stayed here last Thanksgiving and found the rooms dated (the hotel dates back to 1914!). Back then, it felt worn and overpriced. 😬 But this time, my husband convinced me—and I’m so glad he did! Before our trip, I checked recent reviews and noticed the rooms looked completely different. We made sure to request a renovated room at check-in, and wow—what a transformation! 🛏️ The Room: Elegant, fresh, and beautifully designed. 🧴 Amenities: Diptyque toiletries and room fragrance—so luxurious! 🌳 Views: Serene garden and pool vistas from the window. No more "old and dusty"—this felt truly five-star. 🌟 🏙️ Comparison: The Langham vs. The Peninsula (West LA) The Langham Huntington (Pasadena): ✅ Half the price of The Peninsula ✅ Close to great Chinese food like That One Restaurant ✅ Expansive gardens and pool—perfect for families ✅ Near Huntington Library (a must-visit!) ❌ Limited towels (but available on request) ❌ Small details not as polished as The Peninsula—but worth the value! The Peninsula (West LA): ✅ Impeccable service (“Welcome home” vibes) ✅ Rolls-Royces parked out front—true luxury ✅ Ideal for Beverly Hills shopping & Hollywood tours ❌ Pricier ☕ Both offer classic afternoon tea—still on my to-try list! If you’re visiting museums or exploring greater LA, The Langham offers a fantastic balance of elegance and value. So glad we gave it another chance—now we have a go-to luxury option without the Peninsula price tag! 💫 #LosAngeles #LuxuryHotels #LanghamHuntington #Pasadena #LATravel #HotelReview #ValueForMoney #CaliforniaGetaway #FamilyTravel
