The Magnificent Architecture of Buffalo, NY šŗšø
āBuffalo City Hall, built in 1931, makes you marvel at how incredibly wealthy the old-money elites were a century ago. āThis colossal structure feels almost surrealāeven avant-gardeāamidst the decline of the Rust Belt. šThe weeds in the square outside have long been left untended, yet among them, colorful flowers bloom wildly, and butterflies flutter freely. šVisiting the Rust Belt twice, Iāve felt a deep connection between these structures and Juan Atkinsā early vision of techno. š„Juan Atkins, a pioneer of Detroit techno, wasnāt confined by the rigid 4/4 beat structure when he started making electronic music. š„To him, techno was a futuristic fantasy about humanity, militarism, technology, politics, and the cosmos. šThis is a place that embodies a scene I loveāa raw, untamed, and fiercely resilient kind of vitality. šI hope to perform and record my techno set here someday.Oh, and I also tried Buffalo wings at Anchor Bar⦠#Architecture #Vitality #Buffalo
