The Monocle Restaurant near Museums in Washington, D.C.!
So Delicious! On a long weekend trip to Washington, D.C., we spent three days exploring and looking forward to every meal. Today's lunch was at The Monocle Restaurantβhighly recommended! No wonder it's a go-to spot for politicians. π 1) Pre-Dinner Bread πππππ : Need I say more? Just ask the waiter to bring it over. Before you know it, you'll have eaten it all! π₯ͺ 2) Jumbo Lump Crabmeat Imperial ππππ : Large chunks of fresh crab meat with a slightly acidic sauce that perfectly balances the creaminess of the avocado. π¦ 3) Fried Gulf Shrimp πππππ : A must-order! Although only five shrimp are served, they're from the Gulf of Mexico and are pretty big. The real standout is the breadingβit seems to use cornmeal? Whatever it is, I've never tasted anything like itβsuper unique and delicious! π€ 4) NY Sirloin ππππ : Not bad at all! The fries were pretty good too, haha. Overall, it was cooked just right, hitting that perfect medium-rare we were hoping for. It's a common cut of steak, so it's solid but not extraordinary. π We found this place after visiting the Capitol Building and the Supreme Court. It's super conveniently located. The walls are covered with photos of visiting politicians, which is pretty interesting. We arrived around 12 on a Friday noon, and the restaurant wasn't too busy. By the time we left, it had started to fill up. π #WashingtonDC #FoodieAdventures #DMVCuisine #RestaurantRecommendations #PoliticalHotspot #LunchSpot
