The Most Beautiful Classical Library in Downtown Boston
📖 Boston Athenaeum, 📖A visit on a sunny afternoon is incredibly comfortable and pleasant. The sunlight streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the famous Granary Burying Ground is just behind, bustling with visitors, yet the soundproofing seems to draw a line of demarcation, shutting out the noise of the outside world. 📖To visit the collections on the upper floor, one must become a member or purchase a day pass for membership. Today, September 21st, is its annual open house day, and after visiting, I was amazed by its long history and the richness of its book collection. 📖Moreover, the view from the library looks out onto the King’s Chapel Burying Ground, where historical figures like Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Hancock, and Paul Revere are laid to rest. 📖There is currently an exhibition about the abolitionist movement titled “Framing Freedom: The Harriet Hayden Albums” (March 20 - June 22, 2024) that you can listen to the exhibition commentary and visit the library’s first floor. #ScenicViewsOnTheJourney #DailyArtShare #BostonLife #Boston #BostonWeekend
