The Old City of Jerusalem
💡The Old City of Jerusalem is a holy site for the three major religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and is considered the place closest to God. Every stone here radiates the light of faith, welcoming pilgrims from all over the world. 💡Damascus Gate: The most magnificent of the gates. 💡New Gate: Features some small bars and coffee shops. 🌟Jaffa Gate: Adjacent to the Tower of David, offering a panoramic view of the Old City. This vantage point is even better than that from the Mount of Olives. 🌟Zion Gate: Marks the beginning of the Armenian Quarter, which is more comfortable to walk through. 🌟Dung Gate: Exit here and walk along the outer edge of the city wall to find the Golden Gate. 🎈Golden Gate: A sealed gate (closed over a thousand years ago) and the most difficult to locate. In front of it lies a cemetery. 🎈Lion's Gate: Close to the Golden Gate. We began our walk along the Via Dolorosa from here, which is near the Western Wall. 🎈Herod's Gate: From the Lion's Gate, this is the dirtiest stretch of road. The gate is small, and upon exiting, one finds themselves in the Arab Quarter, so we decided to continue back to the Damascus Gate to exit. 🎈 Recommended Route: Enter through the Lion's Gate, follow the 14 stations of the Via Dolorosa in order, visit the Western Wall, then the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and finally exit through the Damascus Gate. #IsraelTravel #Jerusalem #ReligiousHolyLand #JerusalemTravel
