The Sacred Land. Random Shots in Bhutan.

🥔In this scene recently captured in Bhutan, the icy waters of the Himalayas begin their long descent to the Indian Ocean. 🥑The colors of Bhutan... a work from the "Land of Happiness". 🥦Today, there were some stunning displays at the beautiful Jo Chu Lakes, which are undoubtedly the scenic highlights of our Bhutan adventure. 🥔Bhutan in black and white. 🍆It was an amazing morning in Bhutan, spent at Jomolhari, "the abode of the mountain goddess". Before having breakfast with everyone, I decided to venture up the valley, heading straight for the glistening peaks on a reconnaissance mission. 🥔When I reached the glacial pool, the stunning skyline was perfectly reflected at my feet in the cool, thin alpine air. Fearing that a light breeze would soon blow, I chose to keep things simple and continued searching for a foreground that could rival the distant scene, and soon captured this photo. 🥦This is a view of Jomolhari, one of Bhutan's most iconic peaks. 🍅Its icy summit stands at 7,326 meters. Our guide (Ugyen, pictured) has been exploring this valley for decades, and he says the ice is retreating rapidly. 🥑 This is one of the kettle lakes left behind by vanishing glaciers. 🥔Our team spent several happy hours beside this gem, marveling at the surroundings and photographing the ever-changing light. 🍞Dawn in beautiful Bhutan. 🥜I’ve just returned from the Greater Himalayas, and it all still feels like a dream. 🍑Over the course of a week, our team wandered through breathtaking valleys, overlooked from high vantage points, photographed the ever-changing mountain light, and marveled at the rugged skylines around us—all in complete solitude. 🍑Thanks to everyone who participated in this unforgettable event among the world’s greatest. 🍍I’m looking forward to sharing the photographic highlights of this adventure with you all. 🍋 This self-portrait was taken at Tshophu Lakes, featuring Jichu Drake (6,790m, on the right), one of the most stunning peaks in the world in my opinion. #Bhutan
