The Shay|LA Los Angeles Hotel 🏨✨
I stayed at The Shay Hotel in LA for my birthday last year—it’s part of Hyatt’s Destination brand, known for its unique and independent vibe! 🎂🌴 📍 Location: 5.0/5.0 The hotel is located in Culver City—an upscale, safe neighborhood compared to downtown or Hollywood. You’ll hardly see any homeless people around here. It’s also right above a metro station, making it super convenient whether you’re taking the subway or driving. Plus, it’s not far from LAX! 🚇✈️ 🛏️ Room: 4.7/5.0 The Shay is pretty generous with Globalist members—they often upgrade you to a suite! But be careful: suites ending in 01 or 02 are very close to the train tracks. If you’re a light sleeper, maybe skip those. The room size is great for the price—spacious and totally comfortable! 💤 🅿️ Parking Valet parking is 50 per night. But if you’re a Globalist and book with points, they waive the parking fee AND the 30 nightly destination fee! 🆓💰 🍽️ Dining: 2.5/5.0 The food was a letdown, honestly. Breakfast used to be served at the rooftop outdoor restaurant (I heard it might have moved to the first floor now?). It’s à la carte, but most dishes weren’t that tasty… 😕 We also tried etta, the restaurant downstairs, for dinner. The ambiance was nice, but the food was just okay—only the pizza was decent. 🍕 🏊♀️ Common Areas: 5.0/5.0 The hotel’s shared spaces are beautiful! I especially loved the rooftop pool. Lounging by the pool with a drink, enjoying the breeze and sunset views—pure bliss! 🌅🍹 ✅ Overall This might be one of the best value-for-money Hyatt hotels in LA. Definitely worth staying at! 👍 Have you been to The Shay or have a favorite Hyatt property in LA?
