The snow-covered Gold Creek Pond is just too beautiful! ❄️
As expected from the “Little Jiuzhaigou of Seattle,” it’s even more enchanting like a fairy tale after snowfall, reminiscent of Alaska. The news says it will be closed for 10 years starting in 2025, so I strongly recommend it to those who haven’t been! It’s only an hour’s drive from Seattle, right next to the Snoqualmie snowfield. 📍Location: Just search for Gold Creek Pond on Google. ⚠️ The last stretch of road leading in is very snowy and difficult to drive on, so it’s strongly advised not to attempt it when it’s snowing. Park at the Snowshoe Trail entrance and walk in. When we went today, there was only one snowmobile in the Trailhead parking lot, and all other cars were parked at the Snowshoe Trail entrance. It’s about a 30-minute walk from Snowshoe Trail to the Trailhead. The round trip around the lake is also about 30 minutes. 🏃🏻♀️Difficulty: The trail itself is very easy, with almost no elevation gain, just a chill walk. Regular hiking shoes and waterproof clothing are enough. We didn’t use hiking poles or snowshoes. If you want to take photos and avoid getting wet, you can also bring an umbrella; we saw several groups with blue umbrellas 🌂 ☃️Scenery: It’s truly stunning after snowfall, like a winter fairy tale! The snow is thick and powdery, and looking from the lakeside is like a magical wonderland. Whether it’s for taking beautiful photos, walking the dog, or taking the kids out, it’s a great choice. Quoting a line from a poem I learned as a child, “The rime is dense, the sky, the clouds, the mountains, the water, all white.” It’s so apt! ⚠️Caution: The road conditions on I90 can be very bad when it’s snowing. Today, we encountered a blocking collision that delayed us for nearly an hour, followed by checks for snow chains on each car. Only 4WD vehicles are exempt from using snow chains. If you’re planning to come, be sure to plan ahead and prioritize safety. #WhereToGoOnTheWeekend #Seattle #AroundSeattle #goldcreekpond #WinterOutfit #SnowScenery #SeattleWeekend #snoqualmie #Christmas #SnowPhotos
