The Ultimate Boracay Food Guide Part 1 🏝️🍽️

I went to Boracay a couple of days ago for a beach tournament and stayed a few extra days to explore. Here’s my review of some restaurants we tried—very subjective, but hope it helps you eat well and have a great time on the island! 🍢 Gerry's Grill 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Two locations: one in S2 and one in S1, same menu. Sweet-savory Filipino BBQ with wide appeal. The grilled squid is delicious, and portions are huge! ✅ Recommend: Grilled squid, pork skewers, seafood stir-fried noodles ❌ Skip: Grilled pork knuckle 🔥 I Love Backyard BBQ 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Located in D'mall—Boracay’s spot with long lines at peak times. Also sweet-savory Filipino BBQ, but bolder in flavor than Gerry's. We ate here twice! The pork ribs are glazed in a sweet-salty sauce (might be too sweet for some). For two people: a medium pork ribs + seafood BBQ platter + mango shake is more than enough. ✅ Recommend: Pork ribs, seafood platter 👉 Okay: Onion rings, grilled chicken, sausages 🌮 Salsa Fusion 🌟🌟🌟 Hidden in a small alley in S1, near Jinjiang Inn and opposite The Pig Out Bistro. Varied menu—tacos are authentic, paella is decent. A nice change of pace if you’re tired of BBQ. 🐷 The Pig Out Bistro 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Lost half a star because some lunch items were unavailable, and another half for very slow service. Better to go for dinner and arrive early! Food presentation is lovely, and the sauces/flavor combos are creative and worth trying. Didn’t try the raw seafood platter (not into raw food). ✅ Grilled oysters: slow-baked warm with cheese sauce—unique and tasty. ✅ Steak with homemade truffle sauce—perfect with fries/chips! ✅ Special beetroot ice cream—refreshing and light. ⚠️ Burgers can be overly rich due to heavy sauce and butter—might feel greasy after a while.
