The Ultimate Guide to Bar Harbor, Maine 🏞️ 3-Day & 2-Night Itinerary

June and July are perfect for visiting Maine! The temperature is mild, the sun shines brightly ☀️—ideal for all kinds of outdoor activities. 🗺️ Below is my 3-day, 2-night short trip itinerary—packed with highlights and tips! Day 1️⃣ (Travel Day – We Left Around Noon, Oops! 😂) Road Trip: Boston → Bar Harbor (5 hours) The drive is scenic, especially as you get closer to Maine—roll down the windows and enjoy the fresh, pine-scented air! Hiking & Climbing: Beehive Trailhead (2 hours) The main activity of the day! This trail is a fan favorite for a reason—more on that later 👇 Dinner: Geddy‘s Just a casual spot to refuel after hiking. The food was decent, but nothing super memorable—we’ll call it a “solid backup option” 😐. Day 2️⃣ (Packed with Sights & Sunset!) Lunch: Thurston’s Lobster Pound (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! 🦞) A must-stop for fresh Maine lobster! We ordered whole lobsters and lobster rolls—sweet, juicy meat that tasted like the ocean. The casual, waterfront vibe makes it even better—eat with your hands and don’t worry about the mess! Bass Harbor Head Light Station (30 minutes) A charming lighthouse right near the lobster pound. It’s small but picturesque—great for photos, and you can climb around the rocks (just watch your step on the slippery parts! ⚠️). Acadia National Park – Jordan Pond & Scenic Drives (1.5 hours) Jordan Pond is a peaceful spot with crystal-clear water. We stopped to take photos and walk along the shore—sunlight on the water makes it sparkle beautifully ✨. The real star, though? The scenic drives around the national park—every turn brings a new view of mountains and sea, especially as sunset nears! Sunset at Cadillac Mountain (1 hour) 🌄 We timed it perfectly! Watching the sun dip below the Atlantic, painting the sky in oranges and pinks, was the highlight of the day. Pro tip: Arrive 30 minutes early to grab a good spot—even in summer, the 山顶 breeze is cool, so bring a light jacket! Dinner: Casual Pizza + Lobster Ice Cream We kept it low-key with pizza (after all that lobster!), but we couldn’t resist trying lobster ice cream—salty-sweet, weirdly delicious, and totally a Maine specialty 🦞🍦. Stargazing at Sand Beach (1 hour) The beach gets quiet at night, and with little light pollution, the stars are bright! Lay down a blanket, look up, and soak in the quiet magic of the night sky 🌌. Day 3️⃣ (Brunch, Lighthouse & Farewell to Maine) Brunch: Jordan’s Restaurant A cozy spot for a slow morning. We had classic American brunch—pancakes, eggs Benedict, and strong coffee—perfect fuel for the drive ahead ☕. Road Trip: Bar Harbor → Portland (3 hours) Another scenic drive, with lots of small towns to pass through if you want to stop for snacks (hello, blueberry pie! 🥧). Portland Head Light (30 minutes) One of Maine’s most iconic lighthouses! The park around it is huge—we walked around, took photos, and enjoyed the coastal views before heading home. ISF Trading (Sushi Wholesale) A last-minute stop for sushi lovers! They have fresh, affordable sushi and sashimi—great for grabbing a quick bite before the final drive. 🎟️ Attraction Recommendation Ratings 1. Beehive Trailhead ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⚠️ Note: It’s slightly challenging—you’ll need to climb ladders on some cliffs, and there are no safety harnesses. But as long as you stay alert (watch your step, avoid rushing), the trail width and cliff positions don’t pose major risks! The overall experience is fantastic—it’s not just a hike, it’s an adventure! The views from the top are worth every bit of effort, and the ladder climbs make it feel unique and fun 👍. 2. Bass Harbor Head Light Station ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A cute lighthouse near the lobster restaurants. The scenery is lovely (ocean views + rocky shores 📸), and you can climb around the rocks (again, safety first!). It’s a must for anyone who loves taking scenic photos—you’ll get great shots here! 3. Jordan Pond & Acadia National Park Scenic Drives ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jordan Pond is beautiful and peaceful, but it doesn’t have that “wow” factor compared to other spots. It’s more of a “relaxing, pretty stop” than a highlight. That said, the scenic drives around the park are amazing—especially near sunset, when the light turns golden and the mountains glow. Don’t skip those! #Travel #TravelGuide #MyHiddenGemTravelGuide #USATravel #Maine #MaineTravel #BarHarbor
