The Ultimate Travel Guide to Charlotte, North Carolina 🏙️

Just spent my spring break exploring Charlotte and I think I covered almost everything! Here’s my comprehensive guide to help you plan your trip. Recommended stay: 3-4 days. 🍽️ Where to Eat & Drink Optimist Hall A cool food hall with a mix of cuisines. A bit outside downtown but easily accessible by tram. Dumpling Lady: Their noodle bowls are pretty decent! YUME Ramen Great ambiance and solid food! The tonkotsu ramen and katsu don were tasty. ⚠️ Heads-up: A 20% service charge is automatically included, so with extra tip, it came to $30-40 per person. MOA Korean BBQ A standard KBBQ spot in downtown. Quality is okay, but pricey – a few plates of meat cost over $100. Not the best value. Better options out there. Hawkers Asian Street Fare Tried the chili wonton, fried rice, and wings. Standard Americanized Asian fare. The fried rice was meh. Not a must-try. Chuan Wang Fu (Sichuan Palace) Authentic Sichuan food! I’ve written a separate detailed review – check it out! Coco and the Director A cute cafe I found recommended online. Coffee was okay, but nothing extraordinary. 🎨 Museums & Culture Mint Museum Uptown A cool modern art museum. Worth visiting! Ticket: $10 | BOA Cardholders: Free entry. Bechtler Museum of Modern Art Right next to Mint Museum. Free admission and a iconic sculpture at the entrance. Easy to visit both in one trip. ⚽ Sports & Entertainment Spectrum Center Caught a Charlotte Hornets NBA game! Since they aren’t a top team, tickets were super affordable (~$40-50). Fun experience even if you’re not a huge basketball fan! Bank of America Stadium Home to NFL's Panthers and MLS's Charlotte FC. Drove by it – looks impressive from the outside. A friend watched a soccer game here and said the match was pretty boring though 😅 Victory Lane Indoor Karting Go-karts, bowling, and arcade games all in one! Spent a fun afternoon here. Go-Karts: $60 for 3 laps Bowling: $35 per hour A bit pricey, but good fun if you're into indoor activities. 🏎️ Specialty Museums NASCAR Hall of Fame $25 for entry. As a racing-themed museum, it was smaller than expected – only 2.5 floors of exhibits. Finished in under 30 mins. Not really worth the money in my opinion. Carowinds A major roller coaster theme park right on the NC-SC border. Sadly, it was closed during my visit, but I’ve heard it’s awesome! Plan a full day if you go. 💡 Final Tips Many museums offer free or discounted admission for Bank of America cardholders — check before you go! If you’re into sports, check the Hornets and Panthers schedules in advance. Spring is a great time to visit — weather was perfect for walking around.
