The waiters are mostly Korean girls with good attitude

📍 650 Yates St, Victoria, BC V8W 1L3 Super central location—right across from the Dollarama on Douglas! It’s one of the few restaurants on the island that stays open till 12 AM, which is a huge plus. The servers are mostly Korean girls, and they’re all so nice 👍🏻—though the lighting inside is really dim. 🐙 Takoyaki 💰8 Easily the best-seasoned takoyaki I’ve had on the island! There are five in a portion, all small enough to pop in your mouth in one bite. The surface is covered in lots of bonito flakes, which were still "dancing" on top when it was served—so cute! The only downside is the value—it feels a bit overpriced. 😕 🌽 Corn Cheese 💰13 A (hot plate) of creamy cheese corn—the portion isn’t huge, but it sizzles when it hits the table! The server kept reminding us the plate was super hot, so we didn’t burn ourselves. It tastes like sweet, milky fruit corn—so good! But you gotta eat it fast, otherwise the bottom burns and gets a charred taste. Like the takoyaki, it’s a bit pricey too. 🥵 🍲 Army Soup 💰33 So tasty! Rare for army stew, it wasn’t overly salty—I didn’t feel the need to chug water after. It’s packed with stuff: veggies, tofu, beef brisket, ham, sausage… plus some unique additions like Japanese gyoza and seaweed sausage. Oh, and don’t forget the fish cakes, instant noodles, and rice cakes—let them simmer a bit longer to soak up the flavor, and they won’t get mushy at all. The biggest surprise? There were quail eggs in it! So yummy and good value—totally cured my hot pot cravings. 😋 🐮 Bulgogi 💰18 Korean stir-fried beef. At first glance, I only saw a thick layer of onions—but after digging around, there was actually quite a bit of beef, though it was all tiny strips. Hard to pick up with chopsticks—better to use a fork or spoon 😂. The seasoning is just like teriyaki and soy sauce mixed—nothing special, pretty average. #Canada #CanadaFood #VancouverIsland #VancouverDayTrip #Victoria #VictoriaFood #VictoriaEats #Foodie #KoreanFood #FoodDiary #LifeSnippets
