There's More to Vietnamese Food Than Pho🧐

I was originally planning to have pho, but on a whim, I decided to try a traditional Huế restaurant. The food is light, less oily, and less salty, with lots of sticky rice dishes! Hue is a city in central Vietnam, and the name "Co Do Hue" means "ancient capital of Huế." - **1-8 Dishes Sampler**: My favorite was the round bahn it ran. It has taro-textured balls with shrimp filling, sitting on a crispy fried rice cake. One bite gives you both chewiness and crunch.👍 The two wrapped ones are interesting, made from transparent tapioca starch, chewier than the small balls and resembling pearls. The long one is made from rice batter, similar to cheong fun, topped with shredded pork floss. (My husband's reaction to this huge plate is in photos 2-3 😂) There's no sampler option on the menu, but you can just tell the owner which dishes and how many you want. Our plate was 29€, a bit pricey.😀 - **Main Course**: I ordered the classic Huế dish, hen xao (glass noodle stir-fried with clam meat). There were so many clams you could barely find a few noodles! I later learned that the rice cake on the side is the main dish, usually eaten like a salad. The pho was also good, though not as rich in ingredients as in pho-only restaurants. You can choose from pork, beef, chicken, duck, or tofu. - **Dessert**: Most desserts are related to mung beans. We had che xahn dahn, which is mung bean paste (not as smooth as sand) with coconut milk. It's a bit sweet.🥲 I recommend trying the drinkable desserts; adding ice reduces the sweetness. The menu also has drip coffee, which I'll try next time! - **Average Cost**: 💰35 (for two people, we ordered quite a lot) **Co Do Hue** #RestaurantRecommendation #BerlinLife #BerlinFood #VietnameseCuisine #HiddenGems #EatingHappilyInSpring
