Find Things to DoFind The Best Restaurants

There are often queues, but the space is relatively spacious.

šŸ“ 2800 Jacklin Rd, Victoria, BC V9B 5A4 It’s a Thai restaurant in Langford, though the location is a bit remote—not really in Langford’s center. The storefront and sign are quite large, but there aren’t many tables, so there’s often a wait. Luckily, the space feels spacious. There are quite a few servers, and they’re all friendly 😊. āœ… Crispy Tofu Sriracha Bites This appetizer was part of the restaurant’s monthly specials—one of the only ones that caught our interest, so we decided to try it. I can’t remember the exact price, though. It’s essentially regular fried tofu, and it’s fried well—no greasy aftertaste. The tofu pieces are small, and there’s a thick layer of fried vermicelli at the bottom of the bowl, so there aren’t actually that many tofu pieces. What’s special is the sauce—they call it Sriracha, but it’s not spicy at all. Instead, it’s a mix of salty, sour, and sweet flavors, which is really unique and appetizing. I couldn’t stop eating it šŸ˜‹. šŸ— Satay (Chicken Skewers) šŸ’°16 There are two skewers in an order, and they’re really big! The chicken itself is seasoned—aside from salt, there’s a curry flavor, probably from curry powder sprinkled on during grilling. It also comes with a (small plate) of peanut sauce and one of lime sauce. The peanut sauce is rich but tastes a bit greasy—I didn’t like it much, so I only had a bite. The lime sauce is refreshing, but it has raw onions or similar ingredients in it, which leaves a strong aftertaste in your mouth. I think the chicken skewers taste best without any sauce! 🄩 šŸœ Phad Thai Goong (Prawn Phad Thai) šŸ’°21 For the main course, we got the prawn pad thai. There are about four prawns in a portion—they’re quite big, but there aren’t many. The noodles are plentiful, though, and there are also ingredients like egg, tofu, pickled radish, bell peppers, onions, and broccoli. It’s more than enough for two people. The noodles are flat and have a decent chew. There’s a hint of spices, but I couldn’t tell exactly which ones. The soy sauce flavor isn’t strong, so it’s not too salty—just the usual sweet, salty, sour, and spicy mix of a typical pad thai 😌. šŸ® Mango Pudding It’s just regular North American-style mango pudding—jiggly in texture. The mango flavor isn’t strong, but it’s quite sweet. It’s optional—you can take it or leave it 🄭. #Canada #CanadaFood #VancouverIsland #VancouverDayTrip #Victoria #VictoriaFood #VictoriaEats #Foodie #ThaiFood #FoodDiary #LifeSnippets #WhatInternationalStudentsEat #RestaurantRecommendation
