They say Jiangnan is a ready-made meal
🍖 Jiangnan Boston: Sweeter, Cozier, and Totally My Vibe After loving Jiangnan in Philly, I had to check out the Boston location—and guess what? This one’s even better, at least for my taste buds. It leans sweeter, which hits exactly right. Let’s break it down: 🦆 The Highlights (Sweetness Wins Here) Peking Duck: 🦆 Solid, if not mind-blowing. It’s on par with the Philly location—crispy skin, tender meat, classic pancakes. Not as good as the duck I had at Ju Qi in Flushing, but still tasty enough to satisfy a craving. Smoked Fish: 🐟 My friend and I went crazy for this. Bite-sized pieces, crispy on the outside, and glazed with a sweet-savory sauce. So addictive, we fought over the last chunk. Braised Beef Ribs: 🍖 Fall-off-the-bone tender—you can tell they’re slow-cooked (maybe braised first?). The sauce is rich, slightly sweet, and coats every piece perfectly. Chef’s kiss. Crab Roe Clay Pot with Rice: 🍚 Here’s the tea: It came out 5 minutes after ordering, so yeah, maybe pre-made? But who cares? The crab roe flavor is bold, and mixing it with sweet vinegar and rice? So good, even a kid would love it. Comfort in a bowl. 🤷♂️ My Take: (Pre-made) Doesn’t Mean Bad Look, I get it—some folks hate prepped dishes. But for me? I eat out once or twice a week, and this hits the spot. The flavors are consistent, the portions are generous, and the sweet lean works for my palate. If you like Chinese food with a sweeter twist, give it a shot. It’s not fine dining, but it’s satisfying—and sometimes, that’s all you need. 📍 Jiangnan Boston: 177 Tremont St. Worth a visit, especially if you’re craving that sweet-savory combo. #BostonChineseFood #SweetToothApproved #DuckLovers
