This Fried Pork Joint Actually Came from Hongdae to LA?! π·β¨
These past two weeks, I discovered a super trendy fried pork trotter spot in LA that actually started in Hongdae, Korea! Usually, pork trotters are braised β never tried them fried β so I had to give it a go. Honestly, it might be LAβs first fried pork trotter shop. π Half & Half Pork Trotter Set We ordered the spicy pork trotters + fried pork trotters set. When it arrived, we were stunned by the portion β besides two huge plates of trotters, it also came with cold noodles, Spam bento rice, and assorted banchan. For the amount, itβs seriously affordable and filling enough for 3β4 people. The fried trotters are crispy on the outside, but the skin underneath stays soft, tender, and melts in your mouth. The meat remains firm but not dry. Dip the pork in the house Korean spicy sauce or savory sauce, add garlic slices and peppers, wrap it in lettuce β the layers of texture are incredible. Rich but not greasy, chewy and addictive β you just canβt stop eating! Pair the spicy trotters with fried garlic slices β that contrast of crispy and soft is everything. The spicy version is fragrant, sweet, and savory all at once. π Sizzling Fish Roe Iβve mostly had pan-fried fish roe before, but sizzling iron plate style was a whole new experience. The roe is cooked with Korean spicy sauce, carrots, and onions on a hot plate β feels like a street food stall vibe. After high-heat cooking, the roe gets a lightly charred aroma. Each bite is packed with intense seafood flavor boosted by the spicy sauce β seriously moreish and perfect with drinks. π¦ͺ Mussel Soup Didnβt expect the pot to be so loaded β mussels fill it to the brim! The broth is light, not oily, with a sweet seafood freshness. A hint of chili and black pepper makes it a great hangover soup after a night out. π ΏοΈ Parking Thereβs a small lot behind the shop, plus street parking in front and nearby residential areas. π Pink Pig 379 N Western Ave, Los Angeles #100RestaurantChallenge #CaptureTheMoment #LALife #LAFood #LAExplorer #LAtoHome
