This Hidden Food Court Gem in Irvine Will Win You Over in One Visit

This quirky little spot tucked inside an Irvine food court made my day—and my taste buds—so happy! It’s been a while since I enjoyed a meal this much 😂 The owner is 100% an extrovert—no MBTI test needed! Super social, warm, and full of passion. His tiny shop holds big dreams, and before we even ordered, he treated us to samples of pan-fried dumplings and enthusiastically pitched his “legendary lamb soup,” aiming to make America’s #1 fried chicken, burgers, and xiao long bao. As an introvert, I was both amused and amazed by his energy! 🤝 Back to the food—the place is called Bao Chick, and true to its name, it specializes in fried chicken and xiao long bao. An unusual combo, but one bite and I was sold! From the crispy chicken burger to the rich lamb soup, from juicy soup dumplings to their signature fried chicken—every item was a pleasant surprise. We hadn’t planned on ordering the lamb soup, but the owner insisted, saying customers loved it so much they “couldn’t find their way home” LOL 🐑❤️ And he wasn’t wrong—each sip was deeply flavorful, warming, and topped with their killer chili oil. The fried chicken was unbelievably crispy (you can tell just by looking!), and the burger was huge—easily enough for two meals. Though it looks like a typical fast-food joint, every item is made with heart and skill. A fried chicken place with outstanding xiao long bao and unforgettable lamb soup? Yes, please. Add in the owner’s hilarious, welcoming vibe, and you’ve got a spot I’ll definitely return to. Plus, the same plaza has a Book Off nearby—perfect for grabbing a meal and trying your luck with gachapon prizes afterward 🎉📚 📍 Bao Chick 2222 Michelson Dr, Irvine, CA 92612 #MyRestaurantStory #FoodInspo #GlobalFoodieContest #AmericasFoodFiesta
