This Japanese Restaurant’s Sizzling Curry & Udon Are Truly Delicious!
Hey everyone! This low-key Japanese spot near me doesn’t get much buzz in the Chinese community, but I’ve always liked it. And their sizzling curry is a new discovery that’s totally worth recommending! 🍛 Kyoto Gyukatsu 📍 150 E Main St STE 100, Alhambra, CA 91801 🍜 Cream Curry Udon A bit rich—yes, because of the cheese-like cream topping—but oh-so-delicious! The thick, springy udon noodles are coated in creamy curry sauce. Savory, slightly sweet, and deeply satisfying! 🍛 Chicken Cutlet Curry Rice (Sizzling Plate) Served still bubbling on the hot plate 🫧! Potatoes and carrots simmered in flavorful curry, poured over rice that has a crispy bottom layer (okoge!)—I love that extra crunch! Comes with side dishes—great as a set meal. 🍖 Pork Cutlet Set Tender, not gamey, with generous cuts. Comes with rice, soup, and sides—a reliable solo meal. 🍤 Seafood Stir Fry Udon Stir-fried udon with shrimp and squid—so aromatic! Seasoned with soy sauce that’s flavorful but not heavy. The udon here is seriously well-made. 🍗 Chicken Karaage Pretty standard crispy fried chicken—nothing extraordinary, but still decent. 🥢 Hiyayakko (Chilled Tofu) I chose nori & kimchi toppings. Light, refreshing, and low-calorie. The soy-based sauce is sweet-salty and pairs perfectly with the soft tofu. 💬 My take: This place really shines with its udon noodles! If you haven’t been, you must try the Cream Curry Udon—it’s a comfort food dream. My go-to hidden gem for solo Japanese dining. #CaptureTheMoment #ThisTemplateIsSomething #LALife #LAEats #LAFoodFinds
