Plaza de Cultura y Artes in DTLA. It will be welcoming fútbol fans from around the world to celebrate the sport and Mexican culture for the first time in more than 30 years since the tournament was last hosted in the United States. This past Tuesday, the County of Los Angeles, in partnership with the Consulate General of Mexico and Mayor Karen Bass, announced that the historic plaza has been formally designated as Mexico’s official hospitality and cultural hub , to be known as Casa Mexico Los Angeles 2026 . Plaza de Cultura y Artes CEO Rhi Buckley echoed the sentiment alongside Mexican Consul General Carlos González Gutiérrez and City Councilwoman Ysabel Jurado, who represents downtown neighborhoods. “Soccer is a universal language that connects people across borders and generations,” Buckley said. “LA Plaza sits at the heart of our city’s cultural story, making it the perfect place to unite us in both heritage and hope.” What are National Hospitality Houses? ------------------------------------- National hospitality houses serve as cultural gathering spaces hosted by participating countries during major international sporting events.
