Three Visits and Still Can't Figure It Out: Where's the Buzz?
š¤ Influenced by scientific inquiry thinking, I've always been curious and puzzled about Portillo's Hot Dogs. After going through the process of observation, questioning, research, hypothesis, experimentation, testing, and summarizing, this hot dog place at 4560 Destination Dr, The Colony, TX 75056 remains a mystery to me. Observation: Every time I pass by, there's always a long line, no matter the time of day. šQuestion: What do they sell? Research: It's a hot dog from Chicago. Hypothesis: It must be delicious. š±Experiment: I visited three timesāon a weekday, a weekend, and a special holiday. I ordered a salad, Italian beef regular with cheese dip, a blended cake smoothie, and a regular hot dog. Testing Results: My hypothesis was incorrect. It was just okay, nothing special, so I won't go into details. š„Report: I don't understand why people are willing to wait an average of 30 minutes or more for this place. I feel like there's no essential difference between this and the hot dogs at Costco, except that the service and environment are better here. The prices are several times higher than Costco's. I'm throwing this out there to see if anyone can help me figure out the appeal of this place. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. #DallasLife #DallasSurroundings #DallasFoodExploration #Dallas
