Three Ways to Explore Chitwan National Park in Nepal

Play 1: Elephant Safari through the Jungle, 1.5 hours. 🌈Yesterday at Chitwan National Park, we rode elephants under the scorching sun for a jungle walk. After half an hour, a sudden downpour hit, and the remaining hour was spent performing a human acrobatics show for the wildlife—drenched and holding umbrellas with grinning smiles, while a group of wild sika deer watched. ✨The experience ended with a golden sunset and a rainbow, making it perfect and romantic. The cost for one elephant ride is 880 , and it's 220 per person. Play 2: Wooden Canoe Ride, 45 minutes. 🩵In the early morning, we boarded a narrow, cottonwood-made longboat and cruised through the rivers of Chitwan National Park. The river is home to gharial, mugger crocodiles, and one-horned rhinos, while the banks are inhabited by wild peafowl, sika deer, egrets, and kingfishers... 🌈It started to rain midway, and the raindrops hitting the water surface created large water beads, making the entire river shimmer like it was studded with stars. I was a bit worried about the boat capsizing and being eaten by crocodiles. The tail end of the rainy season means rain can come at any moment! Play 3: Jeep Safari through the Jungle, 2.5 hours. ✨Jungle exploration allowed us to capture wild one-horned rhinos, mugger crocodiles, sika deer, sambar deer, and peafowl... After the rainy season, the grass and shrubs are tall, and the entire journey involved searching for animals amidst the chaotic tree branches and grass. 🦌Looking for animals in a wildlife reserve feels completely different from watching them in a zoo. On September 16th, the temperature was around 20 degrees Celsius, very cool and mosquito-free. In Photo 17, there are several wild peafowl; can you spot them? #Nepal #NepalTravel #ChitwanNepal #Tourism #Chitwan #NationalPark #Nature #ChitwanNationalPark#Kathmandu#trip diary#travel guide
