🍂 Tokyo | Spectacular Guangde Temple 🍂

If you're looking to avoid the crowds in Tokyo while admiring the ginkgo trees, consider a trip to the lesser-known Guangde Temple, just a two-hour train ride from Tokyo. Guangde Temple is located in Akiruno City, a suburb of Tokyo. Established in 1373, the temple is known for its two massive ginkgo trees that are intertwined, creating a striking contrast with the ancient temple. The light in the mountains is fleeting, so it's recommended to arrive before noon. Guangde Temple is not very large, but its backyard also features some autumn leaves worth capturing. There aren't many tourists, but if you want to take photos without anyone in the frame, you'll need a bit of patience. It's about a 25-minute walk from JR Musashikoyama Station, which is not a short distance, but the scenery along the way is beautiful. If you're not driving, there's no need for a taxi; you can enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace. When I visited, some leaves were still green, while the ones at the top were golden, and there were also some fallen leaves. This could be related to the uneven light in the mountains. Guangde Temple, 234 Owada, Akiruno City, Tokyo. By the way, the hydrangea mountain I mentioned earlier is also accessible from this station. If you're interested, you can check my previous notes. I also occasionally take portrait and travel photos. Due to work, I often have the opportunity to visit lesser-known places with beautiful scenery and am a museum enthusiast. I hope to share more beautiful places with you. If interested, you can check my previous notes. *Currently using Fujifilm XT3, Fujifilm XH2, and Rolleiflex 2.8F for film.
