大宮第二公園と隣接しているため境界がわかりにくいですが、大和田公園は、市営体育館、市営大宮球場、テニスコート、大和田公園プール、駐車場、芝川対岸の調整池が範囲になるようです。

市営体育館、市営球場、テニスコートは 一般にも安価で貸し出しており、テニスコートでは、週末は市民が楽しんでおられ、1万人収容の野球場では、中学野球、高校野球大会の会場にもなり甲子園予選、関東大会が開催されています。高校野球は県内、関東大会では関東の名門校が試合をするので、いつも応援に来ています。 体育館では、各種スポーツ教室、クラブ活動、トレーニング室を利用できます。 大和田公園プールは、夏季限定ですが一般開放しており、お子様プール、流水プール、スライダーがあり、こちらも安価で利用できます。
