Tokyo 🗺️ is so much fun to explore!

I've been to Japan several times before, mostly focusing on visiting shops and shopping, but this time I wanted to experience a more local life in Tokyo. As an Airbnb fan, I tried their travel customization service where a local Host can personally show you around and immerse you in the local lifestyle. My Host this time was named Aki, a very lovely Japanese lady who customized an exclusive City walk itinerary for me! 🗺️ Sharing my Tokyo local - City walk route: ➡️ Stop 1: Meet at Nippori Station ➡️ Yanaka Ginza Shopping Street We met at Nippori Station, which is super fun to explore! Then we headed to Yanaka Ginza Shopping Street, a very old and authentic pedestrian street with many Japanese-style shops. Walking through this traditional street, Aki took us to her long-hidden snack shop and invited us to taste her favorite daifuku (mochi filled with sweet bean paste). ▪️ Then we arrived at the Sendagi area, which has a large number of old Japanese shops, many of which have appeared in "Tokyo Old Shops" and possess an elegant historical mark. ➡️ Stop 2: Nezu Shrine Here, I bought a commemorative goshuincho (a calligraphy book for collecting temple and shrine stamps), and for lunch, we tasted a Yokohama-style ramen restaurant, which was quite delicious. ➡️ Stop 3: Yushima Tenjin Afterward, we visited Yushima Tenjin, where tags for academic success hang in a spectacular waterfall-like display. ➡️ Stop 4: Gotokuji Temple 🐱 Visited the temple Gotokuji, famous for its countless adorable Maneki-neko (beckoning cats)! We were also lucky to catch the cat-themed train! ➡️ Stop 5: Setagaya Daita and Shimokitazawa Completely different from traditional Japanese classical architecture, this area is a paradise for shopping enthusiasts. Along the way, we visited many good boutiques, vintage shops, and coffee shops. Following a local Japanese person for a day was really quite interesting. Someone could help with translations when shopping, which was incredibly convenient~ And she could speak English, so communication throughout the trip was almost barrier-free! The best part was being able to check in at shops known only to locals, buying special souvenirs, and tasting many delicious foods, which was really nice! #Tokyo #Japan #TokyoTravelGuide
