π¨ Keio Plaza Hotel Kyoto, Karasuma Gojo A highly recommended Kyoto hotel, especially affordable during the off-season. πΈ Pros: Spacious and comfortable rooms with a great environment. The room provides a phone charger and charging cable, and you can borrow adapters from the front desk. π± Free onsen (hot spring) on the first floor. The baths are separated for men and women. It's not very large, but the environment is quite nice. πΊ Daily room cleaning and trash removal without the need to leave a sign outside the door. π§Ό Convenient transportation. It's very close to Gojo Subway Station and bus stops. π Cons: No bottled water in the room. You need to go to the water dispenser in the lobby downstairs (only cold water is available). πΏ Inadequate emergency management. In January of this year, a small fire was caused by a power bank explosion on the 8th floor in the middle of the night. The fire was quickly extinguished without spreading or causing any casualties. When checking out later, each room was refunded 1,000 yen. π’ However, what was really scary was that I was so exhausted from the journey that I slept through the alarm and didn't hear it at all. I slept soundly until morning. The next day, I saw a video on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) posted by someone else, and only then did I know that the alarm had been very loud in the middle of the night, and more than ten fire trucks had been dispatched. Most guests ran to the first floor upon hearing the alarm. According to the guests, the staff seemed inexperienced and were in a panic throughout the incident. #Tokyo π
