Tokyo Vicinity | Kanagawa | A Day Trip to Odawara (1)πΈ
ππΈOn a rare sunny weekend during the hydrangea season, my friends and I searched for places to enjoy the flowers. We finally decided on Odawara Castle, which is relatively less crowded and more off-the-beaten-path (though we later found out it was still quite busy). ππΏ We also discovered that the Enoura Observatory nearby was worth a visit, so we planned an early morning day trip. ππΈHere's a rough outline of our itinerary. Actually, aside from waking up early, the schedule was pretty relaxed and leisurely! Enoura Observatory ππΏ Architectural Masterpiece: A creation by photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto, this place combines an art museum with a climate observatory. Reservation Required: It operates on a full reservation system, with three sessions in the morning and three in the afternoon. ππΈ Transportation: If you're using public transport, there's a shuttle bus from Negokawa Station. You can also reserve tickets that include parking if needed. ππΏ Our Schedule: We booked the session around 10 a.m. ππΈThe last return bus is at 1 p.m., but the venue is small enough that even for photo enthusiasts like us, it was plenty of time. Tip: Definitely go on a sunny day! The color of the ocean is just so different! ππΏ Even if you only manage to capture one great photo (though it might be tough for those with acrophobia, haha), it's totally worth the trip! ππΈ #JapanTravel #DayTrip #Odawara ππΏ
