Travel|Eat & Explore in Louisville

On 5/3/2024, I went to watch the Kentucky Oaks 🐎 and planned a day of fun in Louisville, including trying Cuban cuisine, visiting the Ohio River, touring a bourbon distillery, and catching a race at Churchill Downs. After seeing a blogger’s recommendation, I booked lunch at a Cuban restaurant. However, since the restaurant didn’t open until 12 PM 🕛, we arrived at 11 AM and decided to stroll along Market Street to kill time. 🌸 We stumbled upon a beautiful dandelion flower wall—it turned out to be the entrance to a small shop 🏪. The store itself was worth exploring for at least 10 minutes, so we stepped inside. It felt like falling down a rabbit hole! 🐇 The place was filled with adorable decorations, with each room featuring a different theme. From Kentucky culture-themed liquor bottles 🥃 and horseshoes 🧲 to eclectic clocks ⏰, medieval-style armor ⚔️, Cthulhu mythos tentacles 🐙, and even one room that was too risqué to describe—this store kept us hooked for an entire hour ⏳. The space was massive, with two layered gardens in the back 🌿🌺, and it was super photogenic! 📸 Store Address: 701 E Market St, Louisville, KY 40202 🇨🇺 The Cuban restaurant was also fantastic! 😍 The server enthusiastically explained the menu, making everything sound irresistible. However, the portions were huge—we didn’t even order dessert 🍮. Each of us just had a main course and a drink, and we were stuffed 🍽️🍹. By around 12 PM, the place was already half full, and within 30 minutes, people started lining up outside 🚶♂️🚶♀️. For detailed food recommendations, check out—the blogger’s guide was incredibly thorough 📝. Next time, I plan to try the taco spot they recommended! 🌮 Restaurant Name: La Bodeguita De Mima Cuban Restaurant and Rum Bar Restaurant Address: 725 E Market St, Louisville, KY 40202 #TravelGuide #HiddenGems #RestaurantRecommendations #Travel #OffTheBeatenPath #Louisville
