Treadwell Restaurant in Niagara Falls Town 🍴

Went to see the falls with five friends, but it was raining and foggy—couldn’t see a thing! ☔️🌫️ This restaurant is in the town, a bit away from the falls. It took us about half an hour by taxi to get there. 🚕 The restaurant usually requires reservations, but we walked in and got a table—though it was outside. They had fire pits, so it wasn’t cold, but the environment was definitely not as nice as inside. 🔥 🌟 We ordered three appetizers: Daily Soup $16 🥣 Chardonnay Steamed P.E.I. Mussels, Fennel Pollen Cream, Grilled Bread $21 🦪 Seared East Coast Scallop, Pork Belly, Cauliflower Purée, Piccalilli $28 🍳 The soup was just so-so—sweet pumpkin soup. It’s a matter of taste; my friends didn’t like it much. The mussels are highly recommended! 🤤 Super fresh, and the broth is amazing with the grilled bread—everyone was fighting over it! The scallops were good too. 🌟 For mains, we tried 4 dishes: Tagliatelle, Wild Mushrooms, Tarragon Cream, Poached Egg, Pecorino $29 🍝 A vegetarian pasta with mushrooms. I personally thought it was delicious, but it gets a bit greasy later—after all, it’s creamy. Slow Braised Lamb Shank, Smoked Cheddar Polenta, Mint Gremolata $38 🐑 The lamb shank was incredibly tender and flavorful. The polenta underneath had a unique taste—probably mixed with cheese or something! Beef Tenderloin, Truffle Potato Purée, Crispy Shallots, Sauce Bordelaise $50 🥩 The beef was also very tender. My friend even licked the sauce clean! 😂 Though it tasted like a pretty standard braised beef. Pan Seared Salmon, Leeks & Clams, Fingerling Potato $32 🐟 This salmon was interesting—the skin on top was sweet, like it had a caramelized layer! Overall, almost no misses. The average cost per person was reasonable too. 👍 The only downside: when tipping, the minimum option was 20%, but they barely served us. A friend tried to tip 10%, but the waiter said that for a table of six, 20% was mandatory. They even forced the rest of us to tip 20%—the waiter selected it for us and made us just swipe our cards. I was so annoyed. 😒 Maybe they took advantage of us being tourists. #NiagaraFalls #NiagaraFallsRestaurants #NiagaraFallsTown
