Trekking in Nagarkot—saw the Himalayas with my own eyes!
This is a mountain-top viewing platform close to Kathmandu, offering views of the Himalayan mountain range. We set off at 12:00 noon and returned at 18:00 in the afternoon, taking a total of 6 hours (sisters who want to watch the sunrise can stay overnight on the mountain). We took a taxi via inDrive for the trip there, which took 1 hour and cost 1,500 Nepalese rupees.🎃🎃 For the return trip, we took a taxi directly from the viewing platform. We negotiated the price with the driver, stopped at the suspension bridge on the way down the mountain, and then he took us back to Kathmandu.👀👀 The total cost for this trip was 2,250 Nepalese rupees. 🎊🎊On the way there, we stopped at the starting point of the hike, a small village settlement halfway up the mountain, and then started climbing up from the middle of the mountain. You can buy water and food here, or at the top of the mountain.🙉 Although it's a winding mountain road, many of the slopes are uneven, making climbing tiring and leaving us out of breath. Some sections of the mountain road are very dusty, so be sure to wear a mask and a hat. 🎆🎆 It's cold in the shaded areas and very hot in the sun, so bring a light, easy-to-take-off coat, and it's best to wear long sleeves underneath. The climbing process also involves a gradual increase in altitude. At over 2,000 meters above sea level, coupled with my poor physical strength, I felt a little short of breath and had a headache. It's recommended to climb slowly, take deep breaths, and rest in time (those with strong constitutions can ignore this). 😘 The scenery along the way is good, with nearby woods and distant snow-capped mountains. The viewing platform at the top is not very large, but the view is excellent (the big trees that blocked the view have been cut down) (no admission fee required).🏠 From half of the platform, you can see the snow-capped mountains, which truly live up to the description of being endless. It was my first time seeing the sacred snow-capped mountains in my life, and I felt extremely excited.😊😊 My companion meditated on the grass facing the snow-capped mountains, while I sat resting facing them. It felt like the one-and-a-half-hour climb was worth it at that moment.⛰️ After resting, I took a few photos for local tourists. The Nepalese people, regardless of age or gender, are very photogenic, and they were overjoyed.👣 😊On the way down the mountain, we also visited the suspension bridge (no admission fee required). Below the bridge is a group of small waterfalls, but since it's the dry season, there's no obvious flow, and you can only hear a little water sound. Looking at the scenery from the suspension bridge, there's no obstruction at all. It feels like being surrounded by valleys, with the whole person enclosed by trees.🌳 #Nepal#Kathmandu#NepalTourism#Trekking#SnowMountains
