Popped down to the Nepalese Chef for my partners birthday this Sunday after reading the good reviews on trip advisor and Google.
Was not in any way disappointed.
The staff are incredibly polite, both greeting and seating us as guests and serving the food in a traditional silver service fashion in a manner nearly lost in today's world.
The array of choices in the menu is wide ranging and the use of iconography to identify dishes of varying heat levels and with particular dietary requirements (contains gluten, nuts etc) is typical of the attention to detail the Nepalese Chef and its staff represent.
When the food arrived we were bowled over with the quality, the lamb was of the highest quality, each piece trimmed so no unpleasant gristle was to be found. The sauces, rich, flavourful and a significant cut above what is usually served to us brits, transported one to Nepal with every mouthful.
The portion sizes were huge and we struggled to finish, leaving us feeling full and extremely satisfied with the experience.
With it being a Sunday, the restaurant was a little quiet, in other establishments where this has been the case, sometimes things are left to slide, service can be slow or the food not as good as usual. This was NOT the case, everything was perfect and polished and the owner and his team are to be commended immensely.
Will definitely return and will recommend to anyone who...
Read moreWe went there with family. We were two children and 4 adults...first when we called to book our table for dinner we were told about the children policy they have like the children need to be quiet during their dinner in the restaurant.. then we entered the deserted restaurant...then we were told we can't order second time even if we need anything else asits their policy...then we called the manager to learn more about their unique policy.... He made many racist comments...then finally food came as we ordered steamed MOMO naturally I asked if it was fried or something because the momos were extremely oily with spots of Turmeric all around the MOMO.. when I asked the manager became extremely rude and asked the waiter to take away the food..our kids were famished..but they snatched the food..and we were asked to leave..we ate there before as well ..we went there again because we wanted our friends to taste the food as it used to be good...then we went to Aroma and had a very satisfying dinner... The manager and the person who stays in bar counter can be extremely rude specially to the Asians... Will never visit the restaurant again... We have been to many restaurants like nandos wagamama zizi dishum but never had this kind of unkind and inhuman behaviour....I suggest none to go there..good behaviour is the most welcoming factor for a restaurant... very disappointing...
Read moreI visited this place in hopes of eating some authentic Indo-Nepalese food.
Service: The manager and person who welcomed me must have been offended somehow as I entered I guess as they couldn't bother to talk politely or even friendly. handed me a plate with QR code for the menu and pointed the table for me and when I took the 'Wrong' table asked me, quite rudely, to shift to the next as they were expecting guests. The waitress who was assigned to my table was polite and actually bothered to ask for what I would like. And, in the whole duration of my meal, I was the only dine-in guest in the restaurant.
Food: Saving grace of this restaurant. I highly recommend the food here as this place actually serves authentic Indo-Nepalese cuisine. Each bite of food reminded me of home and If I could I would have devoured everything on the menu. Alas, you aren't allowed to order twice as the manager (quite rudely) put.
Save the effort, order the food for delivery or takeaway as the taste...
