Trenasse – A Popular New Orleans Restaurant 🍽️✨
If you're visiting, you can park in a public parking lot near the French Quarter 🅿️ and enjoy a roughly 10-minute walk through the area. Alternatively, park at the New Orleans Intercontinental Hotel—Trenasse is located inside the hotel! 🏨 #NewOrleans #DateNightDining Recommended Dishes ✅ ✅ Taste of Trenasse – Our favorite! Basically a sampler of three dishes, including the famous crawfish pie 🥧—so tasty you won’t need to order it separately. ✅ Fresh Fish of the Day – We chose trout 🐟, which was tender, flavorful, and not fishy at all. Served with delicious crispy potato bits and refreshing greens underneath. This is on the dinner specials menu and seems to change often. ✅ Stinky’s Stew – A staff-recommended signature dish! Think a rich, slightly spicy, tomato-based seafood stew loaded with fish, shrimp, mussels, snow crab, and more 🦀🍤. Would be even better with rice or noodles! ✅ Fried Pork Rinds – Complimentary from the kitchen! Crispy, savory, and totally addictive. Not Recommended ❌ ❌ Gumbo – Didn’t snap a pic, but it’s one of NOLA’s classics. Sadly, this one was overly salty—even for Louisiana’s bold flavor standards. Many other places do it better. ❌ Crab Cream Soup – Tasted like a subpar version of New England clam chowder. Not terrible, but not worth ordering. Appetizers: Nothing mind-blowing, but all decent. We tried the Buffalo Frog Legs – imagine Buffalo wings, but with fried frog legs 🐸! Also had a duck dish with roasted waffles – the duck was okay, but the waffles were surprisingly delicious. We also ordered baked oysters in three different flavors 🦪 (six oysters per flavor). Our favorite was the garlic butter version, though it was just average—many other spots in NOLA do grilled oysters better! Overall, Trenasse offers creative twists on classic Cajun flavors. I noticed they’ve won awards for three years running 🏆! Worth a try—especially the main courses. The rest you can sample lightly. Have you been to Trenasse? What’s your favorite Cajun-inspired dish?
