Tunnel Bluffs | The No-Turn-Back Challenge! 🏔️🔥

After our last adventure, we decided to conquer Tunnel Bluffs the next day... but this time, we took it to the NEXT LEVEL! TL;DR: We didn't take the same path back—cue eerie mountain silence, abandoned railways, and a full-on survival experience! The Ascent (Classic Route via AllTrails) 🚶‍♀️ First 2km: A grueling gravel slope—perfect sweat session! 🌲 Mid-section: Flatter terrain through lush forests. 🧗‍♀️ Final stretch: Fun rock scrambling (easy but exciting!). 🏞️ The reward: Panoramic ocean views at the summit—islands, blue skies, and salty breezes made every step worth it! The Descent (Where Things Got Wild 🌪️) Instead of going back the safe way... we chose a HARD alternate route! 🧗‍♂️ Brutal challenges: Steep drops, loose rocks, tangled roots, and even a rope-assisted descent (hello, Death Stranding vibes—I literally yelled "SAM BRIDGES!" into the void). 📸 Hidden gems: Three extra ocean viewpoints at mid/low elevations—all crowd-free and breathtaking! 🌅 Post-apocalyptic feels: Just us two racing downhill, passing sunset-chasing hikers going up... pure adrenaline! The Ultimate Test: "How Do We Get Home?!" 🚨 We ended up stranded on a highway with no ride in sight... 😱 ➡️ Solution: Walked along the highway, found an abandoned coastal railway, and eventually stumbled upon a bus stop in Brunswick—saved by the 262 bus to North Van! Lessons learned: 1️⃣ Safety first! If you skip the return route, at least plan a loop. 2️⃣ Local mystery: That super-fit couple we saw ascending as we descended? THEY BEAT US TO THE BUS! How?!
