Turin, Italy: A Primeval Forest Park on the City's Summit! 🌳

🏞️ Faro della Vittoria Forest Park in Turin. Turin, an industrial city in Northern Italy, boasts high greenery coverage and is filled with the gentle fragrance of birdsong and blossoms. But who would have thought that on the hills by the banks of the Po River in Turin, there lies a vast primeval forest park. 📍 Faro della Vittoria Park is located in Turin, on the hills (colline) beside the meandering Po River, near the summit. It is 8.5 kilometers away from Turin's city center and the Nuova train station. Faro della Vittoria, meaning "Beacon of Victory," refers to a bronze statue of a goddess holding a torch at the park's entrance, built to commemorate Italy's victory in World War I. The Victory Lighthouse Forest Park is connected by various areas, featuring endless stone steps and ubiquitous wooden tables and chairs. 🗺️ According to the park map, the park trails connect several parking lots and bus stops at different locations. After personal experience, it takes about three hours to walk through the park at a normal pace. The reason it's called a primeval forest park is that, unlike parks with meticulous artificial landscaping, the Lighthouse Park is replaced by towering fir trees pointing straight to the sky and an atmosphere so dense that sunlight barely penetrates. 🚶‍♂️ Strolling through the park, you'll completely forget the city's presence, feeling as if you've arrived in the Aosta Valley, two hundred kilometers away. Even during the hottest summer days, the temperature here drops by several degrees. #Italy #TurinItaly #Turin
