Two Michelin Stars — So Delicious! Roast Duck with Chocolate Sauce 🍫✨

The outer dining area belongs to one-Michelin-starred Citron, while Mélisse offers a separate intimate space with a workshop-style atmosphere. Service is unified — everyone starts and is served together, giving it a special event vibe. The menu progresses in layers of flavor, starting with refreshing sweet and sour notes and gradually building into rich, deep tastes. While the desserts were just okay compared to the mains, the overall experience was highly satisfying! Definitely worth a visit! 🎉 🍸 ❶ Favorite bite: Wagyu roll with enoki mushrooms and foie gras tart — exquisite! ❷ Uni ✨✨✨ Absolutely loved it! The coating was slightly soft, but the flavor was incredible — sweet, fresh, and super creamy. ❸ Lobster custard ✨ Perfect balance of creamy richness and lobster umami. The texture was silky smooth and incredibly fresh. 🥘 ❹ Scallop ✨✨ Tender, sweet, and juicy. Served on a bed of celeriac + celery root risotto with a light, tangy seasoning that really whets the appetite. ❺ Sea bass ✨ Flaky and delicate, stuffed with morel mushrooms filled with snow crab. The sweet and sour profile was rich yet balanced by fresh green peas. Later, more morels and white asparagus were added, enhancing the depth and aroma. Honestly, the morel side dish outshone the main! ❻ Veal + sweetbread ✨✨ The veal was cooked medium-rare — chewy yet tender and juicy. The sweetbread was crispy outside and melted inside, bursting with rich, savory flavor. The sweetbread was even better than the beef! ❼ Aged duck breast ✨✨✨ Crispy skin and tender meat, paired with a smooth, thick sauce that carried a hint of cocoa 🍫 The date coffee sauce was sweet and cut through the richness perfectly. Just avoid the blood-red beetroot sauce — it had an earthy aftertaste. Breaking open a soft, sweet mini-bread revealed slow-cooked duck inside. Dipped in the sauce, it was absolutely divine. 🍧 My favorite dessert was the chocolate cheesecake tart — warm, rich, and decadent, filling your mouth with natural cocoa and creamy cheese flavors. The tart base was thin and crumbly, melting at the touch. One was definitely not enough! Have you tried this two-star experience? What’s your favorite Michelin dish in LA?
