π¦ Two Nights of Lobster Fun Aboard the Alicia! ππ£
With plenty of time on my hands, I booked a two-night lobster fishing trip aboard the Alicia β and it was absolutely worth it! π€π I arrived at the office at 5:00 PM, picked up my lobster report card, and met Captain Kevin and his crew. They checked our gear, and we were off! π¦π Night 1 was all about rock crabs β I caught at least 13 crabs (mostly short-tailed), with 2 keepers! Night 2 started strong with 3 keepers on the first pull, ending the night with a total of 5 lobsters! ππ Captain Kevin served up burgers that rival most boats β plus they had sausages sizzling on the grill. Every group of four went to bed full and happy! ππβ€οΈ We returned to the dock around 11:00β11:30 PM, wrapping up another successful run. Dave Roti from the CCA-CA San Diego Chapter joined the second trip and also pulled in some nice keepers! ππ Between lobster sets, I dropped a fishing line and caught a bunch of sculpin and a few bass β but the real thrill was battling a 60-pound manta ray that went after my bait! ππ₯ It put on an aerial show before winning its freedom β what a fight! β¨π Iβll definitely be back soon. So many short-tails released β over 90 released the second night, and 70+ the first! β»οΈπ #AliciaFishing #LobsterSeason #CaptainKevin #SanDiegoFishing #CCASD #MantaRayEncounter #RockCrabNight #SeaAdventure #CatchAndRelease
