Two Walkable Gardens in Vancouver! 🌳
1️⃣ VanDusen Botanical Garden Ticket Price: $13.80 for adults🌸🌊 You can purchase tickets online in advance through several channels listed on Google Maps. Tickets are also available on-site, with both cash and card accepted. 🌿 📍 Free guided tours are available at 2 PM and 3 PM (not sure about other hours, but I saw signs for these tours today on Sunday).🌳 As soon as I entered, enthusiastic staff members, mostly elderly Caucasian ladies, invited me to join the tour. 🌟 These volunteers are very knowledgeable 🚴♀️about the garden and its plants, and they’re great at guiding visitors. The tour was amazing—they showed us several hidden, rare flowers, like the super-tall lilies. 🌸🌟 We walked along paths not commonly known to tourists. At one point, they asked us to be silent to feel the forest’s “breathing”—it was truly healing. 🌸They also shared the history of rose cultivation, differences between European and Chinese rose breeding, and the garden’s history (it was once a golf course, later bought and transformed by the Vancouver government). Now, it’s open to the public and even hosts concerts on the Great Lawn. 🌊 I saw staff setting up for a wedding; it felt like the perfect spot for a lawn wedding. The tour lasted about an hour, and afterward, we were free to explore the maze area. These lovely ladies spoke clearly and walked briskly. 🌿 2️⃣ Queen Elizabeth Park Fee: Free 🌟 It’s just a 16-minute walk from VanDusen. I thought it was manageable to walk.🎯 On the way to Queen Elizabeth Park, I passed a Chinese-owned café called Simple Love and ordered a maple latte. After a quick rest, I headed to the park.🚴♀️ Compared to VanDusen, there’s less to see here, but you can get a great panoramic view of Vancouver. 🚴♀️ 🎯 The best spot for photos is near the restaurant. Interestingly, there were love locks in the garden—some without any words, looking more like bicycle locks, which was quite amusing. 🌿 #Vancouver #VanDusenBotanicalGarden #QueenElizabethPark🌳
